Re: Graphic gurus?
Turns out the hosting company automatically upgrades the phpBB. Not a good thing, so I have disabled that feature.
However...the system does nightly backups of the forum/forum db, etc., so we are also covered should anything fail

I think that the trick is to copy the default theme and make modification in the copy.
That way you can keep rolling updates, which is needed for security reason, and it won't affect your custom theme.

I am doing the same as Amedee suggests with my joomla sites, hosted, that are updated automatically.

Hey Martin
Can you make a new logo? Maybe we should have one that uses an Ultimaker 2 (or 3)? What do you guys think?

Re: Graphic gurus?
Nobody changed the logo when the new Prusa i3 came out, so I don't see a reason to change the very nice logo now. I think it is good the way it is. As you always mentioned, this should be a forum for all printers, so adjusting logos just because there is a new Ultimaker could give the wrong impressions.
We have a brand now - "the other forum" - don't destroy that brand

Re: Graphic gurus?
Ha ha ha...that's fine. Good point
Heck if I had some good pictures of a Prusa I'd say a group shot with that and the UMO, UM2 etc
But that would be a large logo!

Re: Graphic gurus?
perhaps we need to embed code so that if we search for "the other forum" it brings us up as the first hit

Re: Graphic gurus?
The only thing I see that would be fitting, from my perspective, is to remove the "brand" completly (so remove the Ultimaker from the logo) and only have the 3D Printing Forum piece. But then again, I think we should probably stick to why this forum was created in the first place. The forums roots... no? Open for suggestions.

Re: Graphic gurus?
I think we should keep the old logo. It's cool. Seriously, the idea of cosmetic changes on the forum a bit does not fit with the fact that it arose because somewhere in another place has "design" was too much.

Re: Graphic gurus?
All good points.
I'm glad I asked for input.
I don't mind the Ultimaker logo there. Clearly we're all very much fans of Ultimaker and we all do some neat things with them.
I know the HICTOP section has seen some growth, so the idea of modifying the logo to be inclusive of other printers isn't bad either.

No logo is good, it's not broken so don't try and fix it..

I thought for sure you would advocate for a teddy bear or bird graphic!
