Added first layer when using supports

Post by tek18x »

Hello,

I am confused why Cura does this if someone can explain the benefit or this.

When i have a part with "supports" it skips the skirt, and makes a weird shape not extremely relevant to what I am going to print for the first layer. Then, it seems to "speed up" as it considers this the first layer (i think....) and makes my actual first layer look rough, as in the printer head isn't level and needs to be closer to the bed, although i leveled it.

I added photos, the one WITH supports has 101 layers, while the one WITHOUT only has 100....

Why does it do this?
