Adjustable belt tension UM2 sliding blocks

On the UM2 I had always found that the tension of the belts was a bit fair and especially uneven on the same axis and also between the X and Y axle, as the belts began to too much relax, here what done to improve the system while respecting the original dimensions and easy access.
The blocks can be assembled without removing anything apart from the original blocks and cut the belts which will reserve for the new blocks with adjustable tension belt, do not throw away your old straps !
Now the belts have "about" the same tension, I tuned them to the sound as for a guitar
Ofc, I will share soon after checking the all well work by some hours of printing tests

Your solution is much better than the step file I sent you, you solved the space needs to fix all. I did try that path, but I never though about using m2.5 screws, that solves all the space needs. My box of m2.5 will arrive this friday.

Short belts on the UM3 made all work much better, used some gt2 I had spares for umo+, but indeed your solution is much better. Mine was quite a pain to install, yours is easy to maintain, replace and tighten. A really great job as always men!

J'avoue que au dernier moment j'ai hésité à le faire !

Neotko, when you will print the 4sets sliding block parts, think to mirror 2 sets, that will allow you to have the right side screw heads access

Question : pourquoi ne pas utiliser des écrous carrés iso à la place des classiques hexagonaux : la surface d'appui serait plus "mécanique".
Je pense faire ça de mon côté dès que j'ai un écrou à noyer ou un montage à faire.

très juste ! mécaniquement ce serait mieux, le pire c'est que j'en ai, pas facile à en avoir !
c'est plus une question de sourcing, c'est plus facile de trouver des écrous hexagonaux en petite quantité sur le marché.

I bought iso m2.5 to print Gudo slideblocks. I will probably change (extrude a bit) the screw holes.

Luckily I found an ebay guy that sells m2.5 in packs boxes ready to use with 6-8-10-12-16mm and nuts for just 12€
